People obviously enjoy COD and it's annual updates, wouldn't hold it against them. And gaming is pretty expensive these days, if your prefer a certain game then you should stick with it or you could risk disappointment and a sense of waste of hard earned cash, if I was to buy all the games you mentioned in Ireland it would cost me roughly 360 euros.
My first thought was "rip off" but then I read the article, if it does indeed give you all DLC for that price then it's a bargain for COD fans.

I wonder how many of these new accounts (if it is accounts and not new customers)are people who couldn't remember their passwords and had to create new accounts? Could they just count how many accounts were never reactivated after the hacking saga?

Seriously, we're 6 years in to this generation of consoles (I think?), who gives a sh!t which console outsells which during the holidays? So many articles about this keep popping up, so sick of them. Both the 360 and PS3 have sold over 50 million each at this stage, congratulations to both Sony and Microsoft. Now stop approving these articles people, please!

Well shut my mouth! I could argue that Horde with cash is still Horde but I'm looking forward to the new approach. I also wouldn't count dedicated servers as new content. I hope they're telling the truth when they say the campaign is the longest they've made, guess we'll find out in 23 days time.

Gears 3 will have Beast mode. Gears 2 didn't have that. So how else does Gears 3 have "exponentially" more content than Gears 2?

I think the question is, will the DLC be worth $40 to $45 to begin with? I doubt it will. Epic have been taking notes from Activi$ion.
You're right that there will already be a tonne of content but it's still sad to see that most companies are going down this route now :(
Hmm. Can't help but think that, seeing as the game was pushed back from April 2011 to September 2011, they had plenty of time to put any extra content in as part of the retail price. I'll probably buy every last bit of it but it looks like Epic is heading the same way as Activi$ion :(
Pretty sick of how Capcom does business ever since the Resident Evil 5 DLC debacle. I used to love their games back in the day but now it feels like you have to wait about 2 years after a games release to get the finished version. Was a massive fan of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 but I've stayed away from MvC3 purely because I know I won't be getting the finished product. Think I'll just stick to the main Resident Evil games from now on when it comes to Capcom.

Yup, not so much that I can't afford it, but I have a life outside of gaming which requires money (mortgage, bills etc...), can't buy every good game that comes along!
Prebooked my copy of Dead Island earlier today to get the extra DLC for free, can't frickin' wait, looks excellent!

Actually haven't been keeping much of an eye on it, is the co-op good? Is it the main campaign and can you co-op online (I'm looking at you KZ3)?
I played through KZ2 and KZ3 for the first time a couple of weeks ago, KZ2 was a bit underwhelming (it IS a couple of years old now though) but I was really surprised by KZ3, I really enjoyed it.
